Hey, Maisa Kola here!
The spark for graphic design began way back from drawing cartoon characters through window light and hammering nails and other small things to a piece of plywood in my familys shed. Woodwork and drawing realism were the first crafts that got me into design.
From the beginning I hated naivism and easy shaped design thinking it´s too easy of a job, boring and souless. I began to see the difficulty behind the easiness and fell in love with what I hated.
To bring something alive by creating a charachter lights up a story and gives room for imagination. As well as a portrait drawn to perfection by every last detail can give less of a deeper feeling than just a simple shape which awakens up something inside us that could be hate, hope or joy.
My mission is to tell stories through my designs by creating something fun and unexpected. Something that can be enjoyed by many and viewed as heartwarming through telling stories that feed even the imagination of the most realists of minds.
